You could have said the same thing about Black folks being able to use bathrooms, drinking fountains, and attend public schools. Back in the 1960s, racists in segregated states felt like those actions were being foisted on them, too. Discrimination is discrimination, intentional, conscious or not. And, when politicians are willing to punish everyone in their jurisdiction to make a point and get a minority of haters riled up, it is about money, using it as a wedge.

And, if you're fine with using "gender presentation" as a criterion for bathroom use, who is going to do the genital check? Cis-gender people don't always "present" outwardly in a way that is consistent with their gender identity either. Should they be crotch checked because they appear a certain way to others?
