Why would those girls need protection? There is no evidence whatsoever that they would be under any more threat than if only girls assigned female at birth were allowed into girl's bathrooms. Title IX is to protect all students from discrimination on the basis of sex. It has nothing to do with protecting students from potential assault. The update expands Title IX to protect students from discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation, etc. To not allow a person who identifies in a certain way to use the facility that matches their identity is discrimination, according to the update. If you think that simply because a person has a penis, they automatically present a threat to persons born with vaginas, you should educate yourself. That same presumption is why fundamentalist Muslims make their women wear hijabs. Peace.
