While we wish we were living in a world where sexual orientation and gender identity are no longer major determining factors, we must resist the temptation to be complacent. Part of that awareness comes from keeping LGBTQ+ history alive. The pendulum of progress always swings back. Enormous progress has taken place. But we can never take it for granted that the forces of resistance won't succeed in carving away at the rights we've struggled to win. The struggle continues, even in seemingly utopian times.
