While I'm a fan of parody and I believe there is far too little humor on both extremes of the political spectrum... I don't think it's either clever, funny, or helpful to reinforce stereotypes. Sure, the character in this piece exists in real America. But, everything about him is a cliche, starting from the state in which he lives. It's good and noble to try to understand why people think the way they do, especially when they don't share our values. But, come on! This guy is a lost cause. Why waste time on him? Let's try examining some more nuanced characters for a change.
