While I think it's a stretch to say that you and I are "polar opposites," I'll bet dimes to donuts that you have a much easier time finding situations where you feel like you fit in. However, nothing illustrates my point more than you're well-meaning suggestion that a martini and a cigar might assuage my feeling of isolation. I've tried both. And, like sushi, I've never been able to develop an appreciation for those specific indulgences.
