Whether or not this statement is true (and I don’t think it is) couldn’t you use the same logic to assert that being vegetarian or vegan are also queer? Sorry, no. Polyamory is a choice, as are veganism and vegetarianism.

Coming out, btw, is also a choice… as it is also a political statement. But Queer, as is defined here as one’s innate nature, and queer, the political statement made by declaring that identity loudly and proudly are definitely related but two separate things… one is not a choice, while the other is. One doesn’t choose to be Queer. One, however, DOES choose queerness.
