Unlike most persons of color, most queer and trans folk have the "luxury" of being able to pass as presumably straight. However, we still see our queerness when we look in the mirror and carry that part of who we are with us 24/7/365. We should do so with pride, even as we are under threat.
Our struggle for civil rights is no more over than that of any other marginalized minority. Millions have fought the good fight for centuries. We must stand strong for them, for us, and for the children who face an all-too familiar battle against ignorance and hatred.
