To declare “I’ll pray for you” or “I’ll pray for peace, or Justice, or sanity…” (whatever) without also committing oneself to the real work of creating that desired outcome is a vapid, empty gesture, in fact, a cop out to avoid responsibility and distract from the actual root causes of society’s ills.

Yes, there are things that only God can control. But, the Creator also gifted each of us with opportunity and ability to make a positive difference in this troubled world. Our efforts, regardless of how minuscule they might seem, are always significant and far more immediate and tangible than any thought or prayer. By our actions, each and every one of us can be a collaborator in creating a kinder, more loving, accepting and inclusive world.
