This extraordinary piece sheds light on nearly every coming out and how one individual’s revelation of their truth affects everyone else in their life, especially those closest to us.
I love how the lyrics to “Killing Me Softly” are used as the subtitles.
However, as a songwriter, I must take issue with one thing… I love Roberta Flack, too. But she didn’t write the lyrics quoted here, so doesn’t deserve thanks in that regard. The song was composed by Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel. Giving Flack credit is the equivalent of praising George C Scott’s brilliant performance as Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman, while assuming he’d authored the lines written by Arthur Miller.
