The way I see it, the choice to use the phrase “queer ways of living” in this context automatically negates the argument, making polyamory a lifestyle and not an identity. Are nudists queer? Or, cannibals?

Being a communist or a libertarian make non-mainstream political statements too. Does that make those who adhere to those philosophies queer? Or, does queer only apply in a context in which sex is a component?
