The Gresham Oregon School district has banned the display of Rainbow and BLM symbols, causing much controversy in the Portland area. When my friends on the city council here in Newport proposed flying the Rainbow flag during Pride Month, the mayor contended that they would have to provide space on the flagpole for a KKK flag. Thankfully the council prevailed.

But, truthfully, there is only one truly partisan banner in this country today: Old Glory, the Stars and Stripes, which has been co-opted in its many incarnations as a symbol of the far right, white supremacy, and evangelical homophobia.
