The Dems have always done better with charasmatic surprise candidates... Bill Clinton and Barack Obama being best recent examples. Mayor Pete came out of nowhere and made an exccellent showing. He would make a fine president. Charming, extremely knowledgable and articulate. Now, however, he's part of the establishment and not as fresh faced as he once was.

Note to Bernie: I love ya. But, please, please, please don't run again. Hillary? No. Forget about it.

Newsom has long shown real possibilites on the national stage. He cuts a handsome figure and is highly qualified. Not surprised he is getting attention.

I'm keeping an eye on two other potential rising Dem superstars... Michigan State Sen. Mallory McMurrow, and former Stockton CA mayor, Michael Tubbs.

But let's face it, if Dwayne Johnson were to run (as he has reportedly considered in the past) I think he'd sprint past the Dem field and go on to pummel Trump into a pile of orange shit dust.
