My takeaway…

In contemporary English, a eunuch is presumed to be a castrated male person. However, in the time and place when the scriptures were written, the term “eunuch” had a much broader connotation… any male person who, for whatever reason, doesn’t engage in sex with women. And, it makes perfect sense that eunuchs were assigned to serve and protect women because they could be trusted not to assault or seduce them.
