Another fun fact... scribes of the original Aramaic and Hebrew scriptures had yet to develop punctuation or capitalization.

And, of course, much of the language they used had a very different meaning and/or connotation than it does today. So, with people giving literal meaning to translations of translations many times removed from the original text and context, scripture becomes a bit like the telephone/rumor game.

Evangelicalism in America demonstrates yet another example of our lack of empathy... Americans can only look at history through their own, presumably exceptional lens. As one conservative Christian said, "If English was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me."
