So many words have lost their meaning in today’s America… two of those words are “conservative” and “evangelical.” Barry Goldwater/Wm F Buckley conservativism has been rendered quaint. Today’s Conservativism is no longer an ideology. It’s an identity.

Similarly, calling oneself evangelical no longer stands for a set of beliefs, nor is the label even an indicator of church attendance. Identifying as a Christian Conservative now carries the subtext… White, Republican, and more than likely racist.
