Pete Buttigieg is perhaps the most talented politician since Barack Obama, as well as one of the brightest and most informed minds in a world of rapidly diminishing braincells. Amazingly, I've never seen him flub a question on any topic in an interview.
The fact that he is unabashed about his sexual orientation and his family is a huge net positive for the LGBTQ community. As Will and Grace did in the 90s, he helps make queerness and queer love familiar and normal to the greater public. His politics may be too centrist for some. He may not be flamboyant like Billy Porter or Harvey Fierstein. But, I, for one, am grateful to have Pete representing queerness (or a certain bland kind of queerness). And, I hope he continues to serve the people of this country for decades to come.
