Once again... patronizing and condescending. Please, you don't have to keep explaining the point you were trying to make in your original article. I read it. I'm not stupid. I get it. It's a provocative point. However, in my personal opinion, you are giving the store owner far too much slack. And, when I express that opinion, rather than respecting my point of view, you choose to defend yours by playing semantic games, and pulling out the "authority card."

The store owner posted a sign. On the sign were words that expressed a very clear attitude about trans women. There was clear intent in displaying those words... to express that attitude. If we can't concur on this simple truth, we have nothing to discuss.

I would never argue against the store's right to express those opinions. In fact, you will not find a stronger advocate for freedom of expression than me. But, I read those words (with the same eyes with which I read your article) and the message seems perfectly clear... And, it demonstrates ignorance and/or bias. In my world, bias equals bigotry and ignorance is no excuse for bigotry. If that logic is not sufficient to support my point of view, I guess I'm out of my league.

Interesting that, in another one of your articles, you presume prejudice, without any solid evidence other than your subjective observation. And, yet, in this particular scenario, you give such latitude to the possibility that the store owner's intent is not bigoted, but fundamentally an expression of freedom of speech. I guess you're living under your own unsupported assumption... that you can have it both ways.
