Mike Johnson is Ron DeSantis with charm, Mike Pence with personality. His likability makes him even more dangerous than all the rest of the bigoted right wing extremists who now populate the mainstream of the GOP. The new speaker is a grinning venomous snake in the grass. Watch out. Much like the appointment of Coney Barrett to SCOTUS, Johnson as speaker represents one more giant step toward the establishment of an American theocracy.
