I’ve contended since the party conventions that the presidential contest was not between the candidates and their policies, but rather a choice between two very different concepts of masculinity. It was Hulk Hogan v Dougie Emhoff. America is far more Hulk than Dougie. Or, at least the majority in this country would like to think of itself that way.
