It's laudable that ad agencies are striving to be more reflective of the true diversity of society. They certainly aren't required to do so. After all, the purpose of advertising is to sell products and services, not to promote any political or social agenda.

That being said, I can understand why some tight-assed folks feel like ads are suddenly rubbing diverse characters in their faces. Especially when, for so long, advertising was all squeaky clean, ramrod straight, and white, white, white. Now, they have the bald faced nerve to cast mixed race couples and show men kissing!

However... Cultural progress has always been met with a strong, negative reaction from conservatives. It's part of the cycle of cultural evolution. It should be expected. And this, too, shall pass.
