It’s called politics. The game is just getting started. The wild assumptions and generalizations made here are naive at best, demonstrating a sad lack of comprehension of the intricate gamesmanship involved in the convoluted and ridiculous process of budgeting and funding the US government.

There are some brilliant tacticians at work. House Leader Jeffries knows what he’s doing and he’s playing with the hand he’s been dealt.

Yes, it would be tragic should trans Americans be scapegoated and abandoned by the Dems for some potential political gain.

But hang on. Try to keep some faith. Don’t abandon the good fight. If trans folk succeed in alienating the only party that will ever stand up for their rights, you might as well pack it in and retreat back into the closet.

After all… You are not the only constituency that has been in this position. A lot of marginalized groups have been struggling seemingly forever, making steps forward only to be met with reactionary forces, and having to retreat, regroup, before getting back into the fray.

I’ve got 55 years of activism under my belt. Am I discouraged? You bet I am. Do I wanna give up? Absolutely. Do I think our political parties are absurd and corrupt and spineless? No doubt, Sister!

It seems futile, for sure. But remember the adage of it being darkest before the dawn. It’s sure as hell dark right now. And it’s liable to get even darker. All I can be certain of is that infighting will only lead to certain defeat. Peace.☮️ 🌈❤️
