It seems likely from the instagram messages the shooter sent to a friend prior to committing the awful slaughter, that their primary intent was to commit suicide via police. All other motivations and/or other factors remain to be revealed. One factor is obvious… that the big-picture issue is the easy availability of lethal weapons to those who would use them to murder other human beings. Saving lives depends on limiting that availability as much as possible under the Constitution.
