Is patriarchy really about harming gender nonconforming folks? Or, is it more about maintaining systems that keep straight, cis gendered males in positions of power and dominance? Certainly, anyone who fails to adhere to the normative script represents a threat to the patriarchy. But I think the “harm” caused is actually a byproduct of patriarchal systems and attitudes and not the actual intent. For credibility sake, I believe this is an important distinction.
