Intriguing choice of terminology. At first, the reference to the greater umbrella of sexual diversity as a "family" sounded pollyanna-ish. Then, I reconsidered. We are as much like a family as we are a community, in that we are often dysfunctional and at odds as each faction seeks to advance and protect its own interests. And, yet, for the most part, we love each other because of our shared marginalization and compassion for and allyship with each other. Wer forget that to our own peril.
