I’m confused as to why Atheists are part of this triumvirate. Don’t Agnostics, Pagans, and Unitarians, like me figure into the equation? A major majority of us also tend to vote Dem. And, is there really an equivocation between queer and trans folk and their allies and left-leaning non-believers?

Atheists make up about 4% of Americans, as do Agnostics. Wondering how that demographic can be so significant as to represent America’s ever growing divide? What about Buddhists, or Jews (Orthodox, Conservative, or Reform)? Methodists and Episcopalians and Presbyterians? Catholics? Like I said, I’m confused.
