I'm a Downey fan. But why he was plucked out of the cast of Oppenheimer to be honored is baffling to me. Why actors revere Christopher Nolan also baffles me. The director's films are all about the visual (invariably beautiful) and the tone (ultimately tedious). Acting performances are secondary. I get so tired of all that whisper acting. Speak up, you guys! Nobody whispers like that in real life. At least give us a tiny bit of vocal dynamics. And, yes, Tropic Thunder is a brilliant, special classic.
