I think we have to be careful about being truthful and accurate about how effective anti-trans ads were as pertains to the results in the recent election.

Simply saying that the ads didn’t factor into the margin doesn’t make it so. And making that determination isn’t the same as blaming trans folks for the loss. That would be the equivalent of saying that racist statements by southern politicians in the 60s and 70s made black people responsible for the election of George Wallace and Strom Thurman.

Yes… It’s tragic to think that enough voters were influenced by those ads to throw the 2024 election to the GOP. But it’s even more tragic to hear Democrats talking about abandoning the party’s principles regarding acceptance and inclusion.
