I spent most of my life believing that any close relationship with another queer man had to include a sexual component... whether that relationship was a passing encounter, or a longer term "friendship."
Thankfully, I've finally discovered and experienced the essential value of queer community, chosen family, friends with enormous benefits of a non-sexual kind. It's become more important for me to be known and understood and accepted than it is for me to get off (not that there's anything wrong with a hot wrestle every now and then). Still, life has far more meaning when it comes with genuine and deeper connections.
