I find this equivalency suspect. First of all, Tom Robinson was innocent of the crime he was tried for and convicted of. Kanye, on the other hand, was very definitely guilty of being an aggressive, disrespectful (not only of Swift, but of the awards show itself) misogynist. And, for Kanye to claim that he "made the bitch famous," is pure sexist arrogance and toxic masculine self-puffery.

The fact that Kanye is black is purely incidental... the fact that he is a man assuming he can get away with publicly dominating a woman is the real offense, regardless of the race factor. So, in that way, Kanye actually has far more in common with Tom Ewell than Tom Robinson. Surely, Mayalla and Taylor were both victims. And, yes... they were both liars, too.
