I can so relate and share several of your diagnoses and chronic conditions. About 10 days ago, I had the orthopedic appointment I’d been waiting on for months to get the specialist’s POV regarding the limb I injured last May during the decent from a steep hike to the top of a coastal mountain top.

“So, how’s that knee feeling?” Dr Larson queried. I told him how painful it was, especially when I’m walking down hill. “I’m not surprised,” he responded. Then, with a chuckle, he added, “Have you SEEN your MRI?”

With that, I was prepared for him to recommend replacement surgery. But, no. Not yet, at least. I’m just gonna have to grin and bear it… take anti inflammatories, maybe get a cortisone injection if it gets worse. And, eventually, the last resort… a replacement.

In the meantime, a prognosis of “It hasn’t gotten worse,” is the best I could ever expect. Ah, the joys of natural deterioration.
