I appreciate your feedback. You make some very good points. Perhaps I was incorrect or even disrespectful to use the term “preferred pronouns.” If so, I get that.
However, seeking more specific and effective language is not capitulation to anyone, including and especially right wing bigots. In my opinion, it would be re-asserting your identity, while taking what has become a very pointed arrow from their quiver.
And, I’m not an ally… I can’t be, because I’m a member of the tribe. Your “either you’re with us or against us” attitude is not constructive. The fact that I am cis and identify with he/him pronouns doesn’t make me your enemy. I’m simply attempting to initiate a discussion about words. How that disqualifies me as a teammate is beyond my comprehension. Peace.
