Having met Ramsey when I lived in Nashville, I'm not the least bit surprised that he takes these holier-than-thou positions and wields power over his employees by claiming moral authority. Typical of hypocritical white evangelicals who claim to follow Jesus but never seem to really ponder what Jesus would do. (BTW, I also knew conservative radio host Phil Valentine in Nashville and was interviewed on his show... Valentine rescinded his anti-vax stance on his death bed before succumbing to COVID... but, that's another story.)
Dave Ramsey is a smug (but admittedly somewhat charming) demagogue, who panders to a certain conservative Christian audience... much like certain country music artists do. In his mind, he is ALWAYS right and has a quick, glib answer to any challenge to prove it.
On a completely different subject:
Ramsey claims to have helped thousands become debt free. But, one has to wonder how many of his devotees have ended up bankrupt or even homeless when they were suddenly confronted with a serious medical emergency or their house was destroyed by fire or storm. One of the first things Ramsey advises his followers to do is to cancel all of their insurance policies. Ironically, he purports to be this super capitalist, but disavows insurance because insurance companies are profitable... which, in his twisted logic, means they must be ripping off the consumer.
Takes a rip-off artist to know one, I guess.
