Gives one perspective that the long struggle has been to normalize queerness, to make sexual orientation and gender identification non factors. And, yet, we don't want younger queer folks to take their rights and freedoms for granted. It's amazing how far we've come in a relatively short period of history. And, yet, as we see today, the struggle is not over. Like any marginalized minority, the fight to win and retain civil rights continues against the forces of prejudice and oppression.
