And by tested, do you actually mean questioned? Because, isn't faith by definition a personal knowing about something that cannot be proven? Or, is Evans saying that faith must be tested in the fiery furnace or against the temptations of the real world? Semantics, I know. I'd like to hear Thomas Merton's POV on this.
