A bigot is a bigot, regardless of their wealth and status. Explain Bill Gates and Mark Cuban. Rowling’s anti-trans bigotry has nothing to do with money. Not only does it not benefit her financially in any way, staying silent on the issue would be a far safer way to go, income-wise. Is she going to sell more books because of her hateful intolerance? Surely not.

You simply can’t compare Musk and Rowlings to the Coke brothers or the DeVoss family, or any other profit motivated oligarchs. Every bigot has his or her reasons for backing a fascist power grab. Yes, fascism by definition means corporate run government. But… Follow the money doesn’t always lead to a bigot’s true agenda.
